Happy Friday gang! The sun is shining here and we have skipped right over spring and entered into full blown summer here in Saint Louis. Thanks for reading this weeks Friday Favorites!
Pre K Graduation
I can’t quite believe my baby is graduating from Pre K and starting Kindergarten in a few short months. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was dropping her off at daycare for the first time and having the ongoing battle with myself on whether or not I was doing the right thing in leaving her and going to work. I feel 100% confident in saying this was the best choice for the both of us. Our daycare has had the same staff from day one of Layla starting there. They have really become like family to us and I’m so grateful for what she has learned there and the friends that she has made. I know that they have more than prepared her for this next big chapter. My mom heart is breaking and exploding all at the same time right now. I don’t want her to grow up, but at the same time I’m so proud of who she is becoming. This mom gig is so tough!
Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
FACT: Chocolate chips were something I craved with my first pregnancy. I mostly ate chocolate chip cookies, but I also started making chocolate chip banana bread then too once I discovered how easy it was to make. I am also a big fan of chocolate/banana combinations. If you find yourself with old mushy bananas that are past their prime, whip up this bread!
Ingredients:
3 ripe bananas
1/3 cup melted butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
salt to taste
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup chocolate chips (the mini’s work best)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350.
In mixer, mash bananas until smooth and add in the butter.
Add in sugar, egg, vanilla, baking soda, flour, and mix until smooth.
Pour in chocolate chips.
Empty batter into a greased loaf pan and top with a few additional chocolate chips
Bake for 50 – 60 minutes
Cool before serving!
It’s such a good breakfast treat too!
EVER Lipsticks
If you follow my IG stories then you have seen me talking about these lippies. The colors may look bright and intimidating, but don’t judge a book by its cover. These puppies look great on EVERYONE. They are way more subtle once applied than they appear when you look at them. My favorite has been the Bright Dragonfruit and Soft Strawberry! They contain shea butter which makes them super hydrating. They go on really smooth too and the color stays put for several hours.
Strawberry Picking
I think we may hit up Thies Farm this weekend. It’s a little local farm about 10 min from where we live and they have pick your own strawberries for a few weeks since they are in season. Strawberries are my kids favorite fruit and they want to have a competition to see who can pick the most haha!
How was this 2 YEARS AGO?!
