Are you looking for things to do this summer with kids 10 and under? Check out this summer bucket list for tons of ideas! Read on to learn more!
Go to a Petting Zoo
Want to avoid the crowds of a bigger metropolitan area zoo, and get a more hands on experience? Look for local petting zoos in your area! If you’re near Saint Louis, we are planning to check this one out soon! It’s called Where Pigs Fly Farm, and it’s located in Linn, MO near our lake house and about an hour and 20 min outside of STL.
Water Balloon Fights
These water balloons make it pretty darn easy to have a water balloon fight! Attach it to the hose and fill TONS of balloons at once!
Have a Lemonade Stand
What’s summer as a kid without hosting your very own lemonade stand at some point? Snazz up your servings with some fun biodegradable striped straws!
Catch Lightning Bugs
My kids have no problem picking up worms, crickets, ladybugs and lightening bugs. But honestly, one thing we have never done is actually catch a lightening bug and watch it light up. I know they would love this!
Watch A Movie Outside
Create your own movie theatre by using a projector and your garage! This one is top rated on Amazon and inexpensive too!
Visit a food truck
Many areas have tons of food truck options and most have IG/FB pages or websites where you can find info on where they will be that day / week.
Make S’mores
You don’t even have to build a fire for this one (although it’s the best experience when you do)! We sometimes make our own in the microwave for dessert on the fly!
Take a Hike
One thing I’ve learned during Covid is that we have a TON of hidden gem parks and hiking areas around us! We went on our first hike earlier this year and the kids loved it so much!
Run Through a Sprinkler
This is something I vividly remember from summers in my childhood. But I’m certain these giant unicorn sprinklers weren’t a thing back then LOL!
Have a cherry seed spitting competition
We recently discovered that Henry loves cherries so I think it’s only fitting he joins in on this with his cousins over 4th of July! This kitchen gadget is a necessity for removing the pits!
