Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Top 25 Items to Shop

The 2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is HERE! If you have a Nordstrom credit card you can start shopping now. The sale will open to the public on 7/19. I will be honest, I don’t love that they force you to have a credit card to shop the sale, however as a marketer I also understand that side of things. To Nordstrom, this is a way to treat their most loyal customers. I wish they still offered their debit card though! My approach to this sale is pretty simple. DON’T BUY THINGS I DON’T NEED. I’m here to present to you the unique finds from basics, outerwear, shoes, activewear and statement pieces that will fit into your closet for years to come. I plan to buy and try on a few of these items in the comfort of my own home. I will NOT be buying everything you see in this post (I’m not a millionaire), haha! Basics

Now that I work from home, I pretty much live in basics. But just because they are called “basics” doesn’t mean they can’t be fun. These are my top 18 picks from the sale that I plan to intermix with each other. The tees and bodysuits can be worn under the cardigans. The sweatshirts can be worn with jeans or leggings. Mix the sneaker wedge with leggings or jeans too. Endless possibilities! I grabbed the faux leather Spanx leggings last year, and I was skeptical. BUT, I ended up wearing them every other day in the fall and winter.

Outerwear

By far my favorite category of the entire sale! HOLY MOLY, so many TIMELESS options! There is no shortage of outerwear in this years sale. If you want to get the biggest bang for your buck, then this is THE category to shop because there are great deals on investment pieces. Last year I grabbed a great black leather jacket, and there’s another one this year for under $70! I found more blazers, coats and jackets than I need, but these are my top picks! I am ordering the faux shearling moto jacket to try, hoping it’s as good as it looks! There’s a reversible faux shearling puffer jacket for $100 if you’re in the market for a moderately priced winter coat!

Shoes

Even though I worked in the shoe biz for five years, my closet is somehow lacking a great wedge sneaker until now. I can’t wait to try this black one! It’s waterproof too and comes in leopard print! The wedge bootie is another one I’m looking forward to trying. The wedge should hopefully make it comfortable even when running around with kids. I don’t need tall heeled boots right now, but these are a great deal! And I love the contrast of the wooden heel.

Activewear

Now that I’m working out regularly, more activewear is a must! The Zella live in leggings are a great price point (under $40) and hold up really well. I already have black, so I’m grabbing the navy pair this year. I haven’t tried this sports bra yet, but going to give this one a whirl. If you like higher end work out pants, check out this great deal from Alo. The Nordstrom Sale is a great time to stock up on workout gear!

Statement Pieces

This year I’m treating myself to one, fun statement piece. I’ve really been better about only buying things that I will ACTUALLY WEAR. I used to be so bad about going into a random store and just buying all the things. Even though these are statement pieces, they are still timeless prints and patterns. This Topshop Checked Double breasted blazer would be darling with dark denim and booties. A leopard belt will dress up basics, and a black leather skirt could be dressed up or down.

Kids

Don’t forget about the kiddos! If yours are in need of new winter coats or shoes for back to school, this is a great time to snag some more expensive brands at inexpensive prices! These will go fast, so I suggest ordering ASAP and returning later if you end up not needing it! The North Face Hooded Water Repellant parka for kids is a great deal! Especially if you buy it in black – it’s neutral enough that boys or girls can wear it!
