A Saint Louis Flooring Company
When you walk into the 5,000 square foot showroom at Champion Floor you immediately feel the difference from big box retailers. It’s quiet, well lit, and welcoming. I love that the showroom is open to the public and located in the heart of Westport (aka the “design mecca” in Saint Louis) next to various other home improvement businesses. The showroom is split into three main sections, carpets, hardwoods, and luxury vinyl tile. I love that everything is brightly lit and you can easily browse through large samples and touch and feel the materials.
Side note, Champion Floor is taking all necessary precautions for Covid and have gloves and sanitizer readily available when you enter. However, if you’re not comfortable venturing into the showroom they are offering personalized assistance (think Stitch Fix, but for flooring 🙂) and they will gladly check out any samples to you so you can view items from the comforts of your home.
In the showroom, you’ll be greeted by friendly faces (hi Kim & Kristen) that will guide you around and help answer any questions you have. I had the ability to browse on my own without feeling any sort of pressure whatsoever.
In home consultation
One of the biggest differences between Champion Floor and other flooring companies are the free in home consultations. Kim or Ralph the owner himself (also Kim & Kristen’s dad) will come directly to your house to see your project area(s). They can take measurements and recognize any nuances where certain brands, types, or textures of flooring may not work in your space. I love this aspect because it helps to narrow down options. Sometimes I feel super overwhelmed when making big design decisions that are going to be around for a long time, so this aspect seals the deal for me.
Product offerings
Hardwoods
Champion Floor’s bread and butter is hardwood flooring, and they specialize in custom work. They are a true sand and finish company. If you’re looking for pre-finished floors, they also have you covered. Also, the crew at Champion Floor has been kind enough to offer my audience free Dustfree Sanding on any sand and finish project ($275 value) you book in 2020! Carpet
Champion Floor Company has a huge selection of brands, styles, and price points when it comes to your carpet needs. They can help with everything from carpeting your whole house to smaller projects such as stair runners and area rugs.
