I am kicking off the week with a post about toddler boy and girl style basics! There are so many options for picking out clothes for your littles, and I thought I would break it down for you when it comes to every day toddler basics and essentials.
Toddler Basics for Boy and Girl
Our kids go to daycare 5 days a week, which means they are pretty hard on their clothes. Between playing outside and doing arts and crafts, we need pieces that last but don’t break the bank. That doesn’t mean they have to look like ragamuffins though! Old Navy is by far my number 1 place to shop for some of the basics such as leggings, cotton dresses, tees and pants for both kiddos. It’s also a great place to stock up on festive attire for any given holiday. Target’s Cat & Jack line is another go to of mine. And for spring and summer every day shoes, I always buy them each a pair of Natives.
Old Navy is definitely my go to for tees and leggings. And as I previously mentioned, you can always find the greatest toddler style for any upcoming festive holiday (St. Pat’s is less than 2 weeks away).
Toddler Basics for the Boys
When shopping for Henry, I love buying pants/joggers that have elastic in the waist band because they are easy to get on and off since changing his diaper is nearly impossible these days. But I think these are great for potty trained kiddos too so they can work on getting them on and off by themselves. I love this pair from Gap because they have the elastic waist band and aren’t overly baggy.
Toddler Boy Super Denim Joggers
Target’s Cat & Jack brand also carries a variety of these jogger types of pants too and the price tag is muy bueno! I love how all of their tees coordinate so well too. I’m linking some of my current faves below:

Toddler Basics for the Girls
I love buying coordinating tees and leggings for Layla, as well as cute little cotton dresses that she can wear with the leggings or biker shorts underneath. Old Navy is pretty much my one stop shop for her. I’m linking all of my current faves below so you can stock up for your mini me as well!
Toddler Girl Pointy Toe Huarache Flats
These tutu dresses from Old Navy are amazing because they can be worn to daycare with leggings OR you can put one on her when she needs to be a little more dressed up too! Can’t beat the price either.
I love stocking up on leggings and the three pack of plain tees for her because they mix and match perfectly!
Every year I stock up on the biker shorts because they are perfect for throwing on underneath dresses and skirts in the summertime.

And lastly, if you’re not familiar with Natives then let me introduce you. These shoes are shock absorbent, odor resistant, hand-washable, and come in an endless amount of color options. I was sold at hand washable! These are great for spring and summer because you can slip them right on your kiddos (without socks) and go. Most styles are under $40 and worth every penny. I will say if your little one has a wider foot, then the Jefferson style might be too narrow for him/her. Try the Verona or Miller styles instead.
