Considering a pair of cutoff jean shorts, but worried you can’t wear them as a mom? Think again! This post covers three ways to wear cutoff jean shorts in your 30’s!
First and foremost, invest in a great pair of denim cutoffs. For years I have bought a new pair each year until I finally invested in the Parker Style by Agolde. What makes the Agolde denim shorts so great? They have almost a 3″ inseam which makes them plenty long enough on your behind. They also have an 11″ front rise making them high-waisted. I got my true size in these (25). I realize the price tag may appear scary, but the cost per wear on these is the best I’ve seen, and the quality will last you for several years. Agolde also makes the Dee which is slightly longer style. Let me break down the cost per wear for ya…
- 13 weeks in summer
- Wear them at least 3x/week
- TOTAL: $3/wear (and chances are you will wear them way more than just 13 weeks outta the year)
Read on for three ways to style cutoff jean shorts even in your 30’s!
Cut off jean shorts with a white button up
Denim + a crisp white blouse will N E V E R go out of style. Besides, you can pair a simple popover blouse like this with a pair of jeans in the fall + winter too. Be sure to do a little front tuck with your jean shorts for a more polished look!

Cut off jean shorts with a basic white t-shirt
This is my go to summer look hands down. You can wear this outfit almost anywhere! The copper Birkenstocks with white soles have been in my closet for almost five or so summers now and I still reach for them the most. These basic pocket tees by Madewell are always available at Nordstrom Rack. I have them in all the colors. They wash so well!

Cut off jean shorts with white sneakers and a cardigan
A great look for an on the go kind of day! If you’re still on the fence about showing too much skin, the cardigan sort of helps you feel like you’re covered haha! You can always shed layers too. My sneaks are from Nordstrom, but I just saw Target came out with a super similar pair!

Hi! Is the sizing similar to Madewell?
Hi! Yes, I would say the sizing is pretty similar. Jean shorts are always tough because I don’t want them to be too short. I tried on two sizes (25 and 26) ultimately went with the 25. Hopefully that helps!
Thank you! Yes!!!!
You’re welcome! Anytime!
