Fall is one of the most popular seasons for weddings. It can be somewhat challenging when choosing what to wear to a fall wedding depending on where you live because the weather tends to be hit or miss (hello Indian Summer here in the Midwest right now). I’ve broken this guide down into categories to get you thinking about the type of dress (or jumpsuit) you may want. I’ve shared my faves below!
Enjoy!
Velvet
So velvet is a big deal this fall. Shoes, dresses, tops, you name it, there is a velvet piece for everyone! It’s soft and cozy, and it is the perfect fabric for fall and winter. This amazing wrap dress by Leith is at Nordstrom and it is the most amazing shade of rose pink I’ve ever seen. This is my fave, and I need to find somewhere to wear this beauty so I can buy it up! Pair this with your favorite strappy nude heels.

Lace
Another great option for fall weddings and events is lace. This sleeveless black number from ASOS is fabulous. It’s not your typical version of a lace dress and I think that’s why I like it. The bottom detail of the dress is the best. This would look great paired with some nude heels (it has a champagne colored underlay). In case you haven’t shopped ASOS before, I tend to wear my true size when buying from there. They also offer a quick quiz you can take for most items which will tell you the size that you likely need. Their shipping / return policy is amazing too (free returns)!
ASOS // $72
Florals
There are a ton of great floral options in jewel tones that would be perfect for a fall wedding. I came across this one on Shopbop while browsing their sale that runs through 9/29, making this dress under $70! I’m all about the little details, and the neck tie + ruffles on this one is simply perfect.
Shopbop // $60 (with code EOTS17)
LBD (Little Black Dress)
The classic little black dress is a can’t go wrong option. You can dress up a simple LBD with a great statement necklace or shoes. OR you can snazz up your LBD choice and go with something that speaks for itself without needing many accessories at all such as this Gianni Bini one from Dillards. This is definitely a dress you could keep in your wardrobe for years to come.
Dillards // $119
The Jumpsuit
A newer, bolder option for fall weddings is the jumpsuit. I think the key to pulling this look off for your next event is to not go too bold since a jumpsuit itself is already a bit bold. A solid color with limited extras is the best choice for this option. I found this one at Banana and it would be perfect for a wedding or you could even wear it to work with a blazer too. Bonus, it’s on sale right now.
Banana Republic // $80

The velvet dress and the floral fall dresses are fantastic! You are so right on the jumpsuit. I saw 2 people in them at a wedding I was at last week.
