Welcome to the 2nd Edition of Friday Faves here on Emmy Lou Styles! Today I’m talking all things baseball caps. Let’s face it, sometimes we just don’t have the time or energy to go all out and fix our hair, put our make up on and venture into the world. Luckily for days like those you can throw on a cool cap like these that I’ve rounded up for you below. A cap doesn’t have to signal that you’re sloppy – especially if you’re wearing one of these. There is a style for everyone, different fabrics, different logos, different prints. The baseball cap trend isn’t just for the men in your lives anymore. I am certain you can find one that suits you and your style. Here are a few to get you started!
1.) The Airport code hat, by Aviate is perfect for representing your city. They come in an array of colors, and are $35. This is a weekend staple in my wardrobe.
2.) I can’t avoid sharing a leopard print cap! This would look great paired with an all black outfit (jeans and a tee; yoga pants and a hoodie)…you get the idea. H&M $10
3.) This blush suede number from Nordstrom Rack is so good. This has also made it’s way into my rotation because it is a great way to add an accessory to an otherwise plain outfit (think plain black t-shirt dress + this hat). Nordstrom Rack, $14
4.) Throwing this camo one in because it’s really a print that never goes out of style and would look great with a plain white tee + jeans.
5.) You absolutely can’t go wrong with a plain black cap. ANYONE can pull this off. It really needs no explanation. 🙂
6.) Anyone going to Disneyworld soon? If so, how about this cute Mickey hat that doesn’t scream “I’m a mom wearing Mickey Mouse”.
7.) Fall temps are upon us and that means cute flannels, plaids and buffalo print. This buffalo print cap is perfect for cooler temps and visiting the pumpkin patches 🙂
8.) Wool + (faux) leather for the win! This Treasure and Bond cap is the perfect accessory for the fall months ahead.
9.) Last but certainly not least, a denim baseball cap! This is super cute and would look great year round.
The Mule is the perfect shoe to take you into fall and beyond. As a working mom of two, the mule is the perfect option to throw on and go. It’s a style that can be casually worn at work or sassed up a bit for date night. I’ll be wearing mine all fall long with jeans + dresses. It doesn’t take too much searching to find some fabulous options, but I’ve rounded up my five faves (I couldn’t resist the Sam Edelman, Lewellyn in the middle for myself), follow me on Instagram so you can see how I style these all season long!
1.) I purchased these in the Cognac color and I LOVE them. I tend to wear brown shoes more than black, but these do come in a classic black leather version. I love the subtle stud detail on these too! 👌🏻
2.) The Gianni Bini Brewsten mules from Dillard’s comes in three colors. The tassel detail is perfect, and they are under $100!
3.) As I always say, leopard print is most definitely a color. The March Leopard Print Mule from ASOS is the perfect statement mule and under $30! 🙌🏼
4.) The Adeinia Mule by ALDO is a classic looking mule that you will be able to wear season after season.
5.) If metallics are your thing, this silver mule (comes in black as well) with buckle detail from Target adds a bit of elegance to your style. These are under $30 too!
Welcome to Emmy Lou Styles!
Thanks for stopping by my little closet of the Internet and taking a moment to read my FIRST POST!!! My name is Emily (middle name = Louise) . . .”Emmy Lou” to some of those closest to me. Emmy Lou Styles is a vision I’ve had brewing for awhile now. I have regularly followed several blogs for many years and it has been a lot of fun, not to mention helpful with fashion and things like parenting. I have always enjoyed styling and planning my outfits. I am a passionate shopper that seeks out exactly what I’m looking for, I get giddy over great bargains, and I love to share all of this with others. I may or may not have a shoe collection (yes, I do need 15 different pairs of brown booties, and no they do not look alike). I think style is when you are able to piece together different items from different retailers to pull together something you love and feel fabulous in. I believe leopard print IS a color.
I look forward to bringing you consistent content via Instagram, as well as more in depth stories and such right here.
In the meantime, feel free to learn a little more about me here.
Stay tuned for great things!
